Manners Matter is dedicated to the education and practice of good manners for children and young adults.
The main concept of manners is to display kindness and consideration to others.
People respond positively to those who are gracious to them and who treat them with respect.
As Clarence Thomas US Supreme Judge court said:
“Good manners will open doors that the best education cannot.”
Children, teenagers, and adults are expected to thrive in a very competitive world.
If they use good manners, they will be set apart from others, therefore creating an
everlasting positive impression.
I am Adriana Rivett, an expert in etiquette for children, young adults, and etiquette for business. I am a strong believer that in the competitive world we live in, there is an ever-greater need for higher standards, not only professionally but in civility.
I am very passionate about the importance of good manners which is why I started coaching after gaining a certification to teach etiquette.
I also have experience working with children in a school environment. This type of work inspired me to teach manners and etiquette, because learning good manners from an early age will set a person apart, help to build positive relationships, communicate effectively and have a more harmonious social environment.
It is essential to emphasise that good manners go beyond politeness and etiquette – it teaches respect, empathy, and consideration for others.
Manners is a social skill that will help any individual to feel confident in any aspect of their social and professional lives, such as family and social events, public places, restaurants, meetings, interviews, and more.
MY BACKGROUND
I have a University degree in Finances and International Affairs. I also speak fluent
Spanish and English, with some competency in French and Italian.
I have worked in the financial system for over 7 years, before I became very interested in teaching. I studied to become a teacher and have experience teaching at college level. Additionally, I have experience and education as a Pupil Support Assistant where I worked in a primary school.
I am a certified Etiquette Teacher, specialising in areas of Social Etiquette and Table Manners.
Manners Matter offers parents the opportunity to expose children and teenagers to the world of good manners and etiquette in small, private and custom classes.
The program offers opportunities for children to learn the fundamentals of good manners, and the importance of kindness and respect for others in a fun learning environment, with interactive learning exercises. These include role-playing, hands-on interactive and visual activities.
Research shows that children and teenagers are more receptive to learn proper manners when instruction comes from an outside source.
Classes can be individually structured for schools, classrooms, playgroups or parties.
GOALS
“Possessing good manners helps children build confidence, increase self-esteem, improve communication skills, make friends, and create a positive impression on others.”
